On March 15, 2025, Utobia Studios released the debut music video for its flagship biopunk anime series, We the Godless. Titled “One Big Game,” the video features an electrifying soundtrack by South African metal artist Kris Xenopoulos, delivering a high-impact introduction to this dark, post-apocalyptic anime universe.
The release follows 410 days of intense animation production, world-building, and musical collaboration. The result is a cinematic anime music video that merges metal music, biopunk science fiction, and African mythology, capturing the attention of anime fans, metalheads, and fantasy lovers worldwide.
What is We the Godless?
We the Godless is an original biopunk fantasy anime created by Utobia Studios. Set in an alternate World War I Southern Africa, the story unfolds in Kondha, a devastated continent where survival depends on biological fusion with the Five Kingdoms of Life—animals, plants, fungi, protists, and monera.
This unique anime narrative follows Yeta, a young visionary with the power to see glimpses of the future. As war tears through the land, he joins a group of rogue militants on a dangerous journey to Yanaha, the last known sanctuary of humanity.
If you’re a fan of dark fantasy anime, Afrofuturism, body horror, or science-fantasy storytelling, this series is made for you.
